These are my prison gameplay rules, you can find my general gameplay rules here: Gameplay Rules

Prison Lot

The prison can be built and upgraded using funds from the neighbourhood treasury.

  • Any items needed for the prison can be funded from the neighbourhood treasury or household funds.

  • The prison does not pay any taxes.

  • I play as the Prison Warden and run the Prison 1x per rotation.

Prison System Mod

I've introduced laws and punishments via prison sentences and fines for those who break them. I use Simlogical's prison system to set up my prison. I do not use the custom career element of Simlogical's mod.

I use 4t2 conversions for my prison, you can find 4t2 CAS items here and here. You can find 4t2 build/buy conversions here.

Live-In Prison Warden
  • The prison warden lives on-site is paid £1540 per week on the first day of the round from the town treasury. This money cannot be put in the prison warden's personal bank account and must stay in the household funds.

  • The prison warden is also paid a bonus of £50 per prisoner per week on the first day of the round, this money can be deposited into a personal bank account by the prison warden if they wish.

  • The live in prison warden cannot have any other job but can make money of their own from any hobbies if they wish to (e.g. painting/writing books) and this money can be deposited in their personal bank account.

  • The prison warden may have a live in partner. If they have children of their own they will need to move out and a new prison warden is to be found.

  • The prison warden cannot have been in prison themselves, if they go to prison they will be terminated from their position as prison warden and a new one is to be found.

  • Butlers cannot be hired but the prison can have other services such as maids, repairmen and gardeners using the household funds.

  • There must always be a Prison Officer present on the lot if there are inmates and the Prison Warden wants to leave the site.

Other Prison Staff

Up to four other Sims can staff my prison, these are townies or played Sims spawned by the simblender and made selectable on the prison lot. All workers are paid on the first day of the round from the Neighbourhood treasury. The below gives the job title, payment and work hours:

  • Prison Officer 1, paid £840 per week. Works a 12hr shift.

  • Prison Officer 2 paid £840 per week. Works a 12hr shift, opposite hours to Officer 1.

  • Prison Officer 3 (weekends only), paid £335 per week. Works a 12hr shift.

  • Prison Officer 4 (weekends only), paid £335 per week. Works a 12hr shift, opposite hours to Officer 3.

Breaches of the Law, Sentences & Fines
  • Anti-social behaviour - if a police car arrives on a lot with a streaker or party occuring, Sims who have streaked or hosted the party will receive a fine of £100. Similarly, stealing newspapers or knocking over trash cans will also incur a fine of £100 if caught (by me the player).

  • Pickpocketing - Sims caught pick-pocketing spend 1 day in prison. If they don't get caught, they get away with the crime.

  • Joyriding - if a teen sneaks out and is brought home by the police, they spend 1 day in prison. This is the sim that is brought home, not the driver.

  • Fighting - Slapping a Sim incurs a fine of £100. Sims are sent to prison for 2 days if they start a fight (i.e. physical fight in the cloud). After 3 physical fights, the sentence is doubled to 4 days. I determine a Sim is caught if I, the player, see them hit a Sim or start a fight.

  • Burglary - Burglars are sent to prison for 2 days, after 3 burglaries the sentence is doubled to 4 days.

  • Counterfeiting Money - If caught counterfeiting money or owning a counterfeiting machine, I roll a dice and the number equals the number of days spent in prison. The machine is also removed from the household.

  • Criminal career chance cards - bad chance card results from the criminal career result in the follwing prison sentances:

    • Level 4: Con Artist Chance Card = 1 day in prison.

    • Level 5: Getaway Driver Chance Card = 2 days in prison.

    • Level 6: Bank Robber Chance Card = 3 days in prison.

    • Level 7: Cat Burglar Chance Card = 1 round (5 days) in prison.

    • Level 8: Counterfeiter Chance Card = the rest of life stage sentance.

    • Level 9: Smuggler Chance Card = life sentance.

  • Attempted Murder/Murder - Some Sims roll the want to see the ghost of a living Sim or "drink" them. Whilst this isn't a crime in itself if they act out on those fantasies they will be sent to Prison for the remainder of their life-stage, or the number of days of a dice roll whichever is longer.

Additional Gameplay Notes

  • Sims are sent to prison at the end of the current round and start the next round carrying out their prison sentance.

  • When a burglary occurs, if the burglar wins a fight and gets away they are not sent to prison.

  • Teens that go to jail cannot get a part time job after.

  • Teens in jail, on their birthday age straight to adult and cannot go to University.

  • Young Adults at University sent to jail are kicked out by the University, and do not get to finish their degree, they must call and drop out when they are released from prison.

  • Sims with criminal records are not allowed to work at the Orphanage in the Law Enforcement, Politics or Law careers. They are not allowed to adopt children from the orphanage.
